Mr. Harris was born on September 29, 1957 in Hopkinsville, KY to the late Richard Arthur Harris, Sr. and Geraldine Brown Harris, who survives. He was also preceded in death by two sisters; Carrie Harris and Glenda Faye Harris Peeler. He became a member of New Light Baptist Church at a young age. He was 1976 graduate of G.W. Carver High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a Professional Chef as well as a Certified Bartender. He was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Michael O. Harris, Jr., four sisters; Wanda Early, La Donna Perkins (Greg), Stella Penn (Reed) Juanita Sharma (Buddy), three brothers; Richard A. Harris, Jr. (Sabrina), Donald H. Harris (Teresa), John E.Harris and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Harris Family Cemetery with Military Rites to be conducted by the Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
