Maxine Bell Brown

Mrs. Brown was born on June 2, 1944 in Tazewell, Virginia to the late Roby Clark and the late Myrtle Dillard Parrish. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Wilbert Brown, a daughter, Marline Brown, two grandchildren, Brittney Smith and Joel Palmer. She was a member of Peoples Church of the Living God where she taught Sunday School. She had worked at Bassett-Walker, loved being a Baby Sitter and also being a Foster Parent. She loved crafts, flowers and birds.

Mrs. Brown is survived five daughters, Tammy Adkridge, Saprena Cook, Paula Craighead, Victoria Brown and Tamika Elgin, two sisters, Diann Shrewsbury, Karen O'Quinn, one brother, Phillip Parrish, thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dwayne Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 144 Mt. Hermon Church Road, Bassett, VA.
