Mr. Ramsey was born on June 30, 1941 in Henry County, Virginia to the late James Ramsey and the late Naomi Ruth Watkins Ramsey. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Roger Rakes. He was employed by Fieldcrest Mills until his retirement.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Sharon Hodges Ramsey, three daughters; Rhonda Rakes, Sandra Hall, Liz Purcell (Cory), three sisters; Frances Allen, Becky Foley, Yvonne Martin (Donnie), one brother, Tex Ramsey (Mary Ann), four grandchildren; Dawn Hall, Torri Rakes, Joshua Rakes (Brittany), Jordan Cox (Joshua), eight great-grandchildren; Jasmine Fain (Austin), Brooke Penn, Gracie Ward, Chase Ward, Madilyn Rakes, Addyson Rakes, Roger Rakes, Jackson Cox and one great-great grandchild, A.J. Fain.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
