He was born September 29, 1946 in Davy, West Virginia to Edgar Carroll and Mae Davis Carroll.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Frank Ellison and Mattie Ellison Baker; two sisters, Betty Thomas and Patsy Settles; and two brothers, Roger Carroll and Harney Carroll.
He was employed with Nelson Auto for more than twenty years in Sales.
Carroll was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church where he was licensed to preach. At the church, he served as Deacon, Sunday School Director, substitute Sunday School Teacher, sung in the Men's Group and served as a chairman of the renovation committee.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Greenlief Carroll of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim C. Robertson and husband, Dwayne of Collinsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Carroll and wife, Laura of Blacksburg; six sisters, Margaret Blevins of Baltimore, MD, Darnell Hughes of Weston, West Virginia, Cathy Rushbrook of Asheboro, NC, Janet Hughes of Emmitsburg, MD, Judy Elswick and Mary Elswick, both of Brenton, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Taylor Robertson, Gage Carroll, Victoria Robertson and Blake Olivia Carroll and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 20, 2010 at Fort Trial Baptist Church with Dr. Joey McNeill and Reverend Tony Beach officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Fort Trial Baptist Church and other times at the home on Richardson Road, Collinsville.
