Gloria Ashby Perry, 82, of Martinsville, VA passed away May 24, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born February 1, 1935 in Henry County to the late Reverend George F. Ashby and Mary S. Ashby.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John B. Perry, and son, John David Perry.
Surviving is one son, Stephen (Kim) Perry, of Bassett; one brother, Donald Ashby of Ridgeway; three sisters, Martha (Kennon) Cox of Ridgeway, Susan Cobbler of Martinsville, and Jane (J.D.) Draper of Collinsville; three grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Gloria was an avid cross-stitcher and loved to sew. In addition to sewing, she loved to bake and was well known for her pound cakes.
A visitation will be held for Gloria at Collins Funeral Home on Friday, May 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Her funeral service will be Saturday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dan Schelling officiating.
