Gloria Jean Patterson

Gloria Jean Patterson, 53, of Rocky Mount, VA, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016. She was born on January 26, 1963 in Franklin County, VA to the late Thomas Edward Hagwood and Evelyn Marie Robertson Hagwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Patterson, her brother, Thomas J. Robertson and her sister, Shameka Pace.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Shalisa and Latorya Hagwood; granddaughter, Sakorah Manns all of Rocky Mount, VA; sisters, Charlotte Pace of Bassett, VA, Martha (Keith) Manns of Henry, VA, Wanda (Donnie) Grey of Martinsville, VA, Tonya (John) Craighead of Martinsville, VA; brother, James Hagwood of Martinsville, VA; aunt, Mary Mattox of Henry, VA; aunts, Carrie and Vera Hagwood of Martinsville, VA; uncles, Leonard (Anita) Robinson of Martinsville, VA, Billy (Donna) Robertson, Samuel (Debra) Robinson of Henry, VA; special cousins, Clifton Gill of Rocky Mount, VA and Timothy Gill of Hurst, TX; special daughter and granddaughter at heart Christy Tinsley and Amiya Saunders of Rocky Mount, VA; Special friend, Sophia Redd, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gloria was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Fieldale, VA.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory in Bassett, VA with Pastor Benjamin Redd officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
