She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Russell Thomas Craig, her stepmother, Annie Mitchell Bowman, and two brothers, Archer Webster Bowman and James Orville Bowman.
Estelle was a very active member of Pocahontas Bassett Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a graduate of Radford State Teacher’s College and taught at the original Stanleytown Elementary School. She also taught Kindergarten and Play School at the church for many years, and was a member of the Bassett Homemaker’s Club where she held several positions.
Surviving are her two sons, Danny Russell Craig and wife Nancy of Martinsville, and Carlton Bowman Craig of Bassett; two granddaughters, Meredith Brooke Craig of Collinsville, and Mallory Lake Craig of Radford; two sisters, Barbara Bowman Hopkins and husband Joe, of McLean, and Wanda Bowman Crickenberger and husband Tommy, of Salem; four brothers, Ray Bowman and wife Ruth, of North Manchester, IN, J. Harlan Bowman of Boones Mill, Chester Bowman and wife Eleanor, of Bridgewater, and Mitchell Bowman and wife Bobbie, of Fincastle; two brothers-in-law, Hogue Craig and wife Joyce, of Bassett and Edward Craig of Roanoke; one sister-in-law, Kitty Bowman, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Pocahontas Bassett Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Hewitt officiating. Entombment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Bassett.
