I would like to send my condolences to the Akridge family and friends...My memories of Dawson was in school and neighborhood.  Always a gentlemen, kind and a beautiful smile.  After reading the article about his landscaping at the VA..I did not know how talented he was seeing his clay pots garden art...May he rest in peace and comfort with the Lord..

*Dawson Akridge was a dedicated veteran to his country and his fellow veterans. He gave more than 100% both as an inpatient and outpatient at the Salem V.A. Medical Center for many years working both for Rehab. Medicine in Horticulture Therapy and as an outpatient under Compensated Workers Therapy. He was loyal and dedicated to improving the grounds at the hospital. I can't say enough about his dedication to the land that he loved. Am sorry for the family's loss as well as this county's loss.

He was loyal and dedicated to improving the grounds at the hospital. as proving a positive lifestyle for himself.  I can't say enough about his dedication to the land that he loved & he will always be remembered for the trust he inspired in us who worked with him and who loved him!  A special thanks to his good friend, Maxine Joiner Wright for her friendship and loyalty to him.  (I first worked with him until I retired; he was my "right hand man."  God Bless him and may he rest in peace.
