Bobby Penn Cassady

Bobby Penn Cassady. Age 87 of Bassett, VA passed away on November 20, 2024. Mr. Cassady was born on March 9, 1937 to Gilbert Ray Cassady, Sr. and Annie Holt Cassady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ernestine “Tena” Brown Cassady, two sisters, Thelma Woods and Dorothy Rigney, two brothers, Gilbert Ray Cassady, Jr and James Cassady. He was a member of the 1957 class of Bassett High School. He was retired from Bassett Chair Company where he was employed for 45 years. He was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. Bobby is survived by one daughter, ,Terri Hatchett (Glenn), two sons, Eddie Cassady (Peggy), Shaun Cassady (Mary Ellen), four grandsons, Dustin Hatchett, Jordan Hatchett (Heather), Blayne Cassady (Katie), Hunter Cassady, one great granddaughter, Olivia Cassady, one great grandson, Dorian Hatchett and one sister, Lois Turner (Herbert). A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Fort Trial Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Tony Beach officiating. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
