Bill was born on April 14, 1933 in Bartonville, to Theodore and Mary (Kullman) Zahner. He married Joyce Heitzman on June 19, 1955. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Julie (Jim) Roberts of Peoria, William (Jody) Zahner Jr. of Deatsville, AL, and Theresa (Phil) Blackburn of Bartonville; grandchildren, Jerrad (Haley) Zahner, Kayleigh (Chad) Oates, Matthew (Kim) Blackburn, and Ryan (Jobi) Blackburn; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lois Spillman and Mary (Ron) Abernathy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Theodore Zahner.
Bill served in the United States Army for two years. He worked for Keystone for 30 years until his retirement in 1986. Bill was a member of the American Legion.
Bill enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, making homemade wine, and was a lifelong Cubs fan.
The family would like to thank Traditions Hospice for the care and comfort Bill received, as well as his caregivers Joni, Nami and Buffy.
A Private family service will be held with a burial at Parkview Cemetery. Arrangements have been made through Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
