Virginia A. Koelling

Virginia was born on May 29, 1920 in Peoria, IL to Ezra and Anthia (Hall) Bowers. She married W. Kenneth Koelling on August 30, 1942 in Bartonville, IL and he preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Stevens of Peoria, IL; her son, Kenneth B. (Debbie) Koelling of Bartonville, IL; her grandchildren, Scott (Patty) Stevens, Tina (Mike) Carlson, Sheri (Mike) Strohl, Bob Koelling, Jeff (Jana) Stevens and Jessica Berardi; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Virginia worked in the Recorder of Deeds Office of the Peoria County Courthouse, retiring in 1982. She was a lifetime member of Celestial City Chapter #333 Order of the Eastern Star. Virginia always said, “I’ve had a good life.” She spent many winters in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and summers in Northern Minnesota after she retired.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 11am at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice 2265 W Altorfer Rd., Peoria, IL 61615.
