Susan Lynn Armstrong

Sue was born Aug. 3, 1960 in Peoria, IL. She was raised by her father and step-mother, Erwin Leon and Carole Alden. They preceded her in death along with one brother, Scott Alden.

She married Ron Armstrong on Sep. 15, 2003 on a cruise in the Caribbean. He survives along with one daughter, Nicole L. (Brian) Allan of Champaign, IL, one step-son, Randy (Veronica) Armstrong of Iowa City, IA, one granddaughter, Gabriella Armstrong of Iowa City, IA, one sister, Chris Simpsen of Crescent City, FL, one brother, Billy Wayne (Annita) Simpsen of Brereton, IL, her favorite nephew, Brayden Rieck of Peoria, and one niece Ashley Simpsen.

Sue worked at and then managed the Tazewell and Peoria County Unemployment Offices for 30 years retiring in 2011. She was a very active member of the Hanna City Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed working out with her friends at RiverPlex in Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Sue’s life will be Friday, Nov. 10, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Hanna City Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Private family burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Hanna City Presbyterian Church.
