She was born on February 26, 1946, in Gulfport, MS, to William and Lillian (Barber) Traw. She married Charles Virgil Keltner on April 10, 1971, and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2004.
Surviving are her children, William Keltner, Charles “Mike” Keltner, Ken “Hagrid” Keltner, and Mary (Marshall) Keltner-King; granddaughter, Willow Keltner; aunt, Mittie Tores; and several nieces and nephews.
Sandra was formerly employed as a School Bus Monitor, and Travel Agent with AAA. Sandra was active in the Peoria Players, Corn Stock Theatre, and the Chillicothe Players. She was a volunteer at the Peoria First Food Pantry, K.T. Manor Haunted House and Christmas Extravaganza, volunteer coach at the Christ Center and known as “Grandma Sandy” at Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Education Center.
Sandra was passionate about the Lord and her family. She spent her life supporting her children’s dreams and it gave her the greatest pleasure to see them come true. She loved to travel, and enrich the lives of those around her by sharing the things she learned and the memories she made. She was the co-recipient of Peoria Public Schools Those Who Excel-Volunteer Award in 2020, and received the Illinois State Board of Education Standard of Excellence for her service and dedication to the education of young children within the Peoria community.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Missionary Church at 11AM, on Saturday, January 21, 2023 with burial to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel from 5-8PM, Friday, January 20, 2023, and an hour prior to the services at church. Memorials may be made to Peoria Public School Foundation- Valeska Hinton- in memory of Sandra Keltner.
