Rosanne "Rosie" Biegler, 65, of Peoria, passed away and left this world to join her parents and her sister on the morning of December 19, 2022. She was born on July 26, 1957 in Guttenberg, Iowa, a daughter of the Rev. Clare Ernest and Elizabeth Louise (Atkins) Biegler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Mary Knapp.
Rosie is survived by her sister, Evelyn Biegler of Peoria; brother-in-law, Raymond Knapp of Perry, Iowa; one nephew, three nieces, five great nieces and her first great great nephew is expected any day; three aunts and several cousins.
She was a graduate of Tioga High School in Tioga, North Dakota, Class of 1975. After high school she moved to Peoria where she graduated from ICC with her LPN credentials.
For the next 16 years, her love of nursing lead her to employment at several nursing homes and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. In her next chapter, she continued her nursing skills in the Parish Nurse Program, where she would share her medical knowledge with others. During her last several years she volunteered many hours in the business office at Sharon Health Care.
Rosie had a deep love for children, which she demonstrated by fostering 25 children with LSSI.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Peoria until it's closing. She was currently a member of Grace and Peace Lutheran Church. Rosie was also active in the Heart of Illinois Via de Cristo where she served on multiple teams.
Rosie's hobbies and pastimes included but were not limited to counted cross stitch and quilting.
Her generous and caring spirit will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Rosie's funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Grace and Peace Lutheran Church in Peoria. Rev. Mary Beenken will officiate. Her visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. also on Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace and Peace Lutheran Church or TAPS.
