Norma J. Cheatham

She was born February 9, 1928 in Tiskilwa, IL. to Milton A. and Lola Green Jury. She married Charles F. Cheatham on October 10, 1950 in Peoria. He passed away on April 11th, 1985.

Norma is survived by three sons; Mike (Charlene), and Kevin (Lisa) all of Bartonville, Greg of Peoria, one daughter; Beth (Kevin) Reynolds of Bartonville, 8 grandchildren; Jennifer Selk, Mike (Savannah) Cheatham, Allyce Cheatham, Kyle Cheatham, Cody Cheatham, Caitlin Reynolds and Kelsey Reynolds, as well as one great-grandson Zack Selk. Also surviving are two sisters; Merrielle Akright and Ellen Newton both of Henry, IL. And one Sister-in-law Melba Jury of Sparland, IL.

She was preceded in death by her five brothers; Milton Jr., Allen Duane, John, Paul and Robert. Four sisters; Harriet, Joyce, Betty and Florence.

Norma was a registered nurse who graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She worked for several years for Dr. Newcomer and Dr. Carroll in Bartonville, IL.

She was a Charter member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Bartonville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Karen Merrick will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the chapel, with an additional hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Bartonville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friends of Bartonville Fire Department or to Methodist College of Nursing Scholarship Fund.
