Sunset Manor in Canton. She was 71 years old. Judy was born on August 23,1950 in Peoria.
She was the daughter of the late Leonard Franklin Adams and Anna Mildred Allgood. Judy
attended schools in Bartonville, graduating from Limestone High School in 1968. Judy went on
to receive her RN license from Methodist School of Nursing.
On June 22, 1968 Judy was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) C. Seay at Bartonville Methodist
Church. They shared 53 years of marriage.
Judy thrived in her role as a nurse and worked at Methodist Hospital after graduating from
nursing school. Judy worked at Methodist until her and Bob’s early retirement. After retirement,
Judy and Bob spent many years living in Louisiana before returning home to the Peoria area a
few years ago. Judy loved to garden and she always had the most beautiful yard full of colorful
flowers. Judy loved dogs and never went long without a four-legged furbaby, or two, by her
side. Judy’s greatest love was her children and grandchildren and the time she got to spend
with them.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob; her two sons, Robert (Rob) and his wife
Dawn of Peoria and Andrew (Drew) Seay and his wife Lynn of Ocala, Florida. Her beautiful
grandchildren, Skylar, Jackson and Austin Seay of Ocala, Florida; two step-grandsons, Dillon
and Dustin Lyon and a step-great granddaughter, Gracelyn Strowmatt-Lyon.
Judy is further survived by her siblings, Peggy (Gary) Russell of Kenosha, WI; Jerry (Norma)
Adams of McHenry, IL; Kathy Adams of Peoria, David (Tammy) Adams of Bartonville and Rick
(Wanda) Adams of Jackson, MS as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and
nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Carrie Adams Lapenta in
2014.
A visitation honoring Judy’s life will be held at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel, 1203 West Garfield Ave, Bartonville on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Bishop James Lashley will officiate. Following graveside services at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, Judy’s family would like to invite everyone to join them at the American Legion 4501
Airport Rd Bartonville to celebrate her life with friends and family.
