Jean Henderson

Peoria – Jean Henderson, 89, of Bartonville, passed away at 10:08 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at UnityPoint Health - Proctor in Peoria, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 5, 1931 in Johnson County, a daughter Fred and Allie (Brancecum) Jackson. She married Richard L. Henderson on March 2, 1951 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1996 in Peoria.

Jean was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Bill and Jack L. Henderson; six brothers; and four sisters.

She is survived by her three children, Floyd W. (Tina) Henderson of Peoria, David S. Henderson of Peoria, and Pamela J. (John) Voeste of Peoria; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Floyd (Louella) Jackson of Morton; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean worked as a teacher’s aide for Berea Baptist School in Bartonville. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Bartonville and was a past president of the Ladies Fellowship at church. She loved spending time with her family and she was known by the family as “the best grandma ever”.

Jean’s funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. William Pierce and Rev. Dr. Jerry Jackson will be officiating. A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church or a charity of donor’s choice.
