She was born April 24, 1918 to Bernard and Lucy (White) Koeppel. She married Leo E. Thibault on March 29, 1945 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter: Janice E. (James) Gard of Hanna City; two grandsons: James T. Gard, Jr. of Peoria, and Robert W. Gard of Plymouth, MN; one brother: Irvin (Mary) Koeppel of Peoria and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Myrtle Gard and Lucille Riedlinger, and one brother: Jack Koeppel.
Irene retired as Food Supervisor at Bel-Wood Nursing Home on May 1, 1978 after working there for 25 years. She loved sports and played softball with the Farrows Chicks and with the Caterpillar Dieselettes.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the Chapel. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Limestone Fire and Rescue Squad.
