Harold Lloyd Wilson

Born April 13, 1927 in Wolf Lake, IL to William and Eva Wilson, he married Dolores J. Schwenk in Piggot, Arkansas on March 27, 1950. She died on May 18, 1988.

Also preceding him in death are a son, Kenneth at age 4, three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are three sons, Charles Wilson (Mary) of Denver, Colorado; Michael Wilson (Nancy) of Old Town, Florida and Joseph Wilson (Cheri) of Wheat Ridge Colorado; Three daughters, Christine Onnen (Ken) of Roanoke, IL, Catherine Wilson of Peoria, IL and Shari Wilson of Peoria, IL. He also has 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Harold was a World War Il veteran, proudly serving at the rank of Sergeant in the Combat Engineers, a demolition platoon. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0979 in Bartonville as well as the VFW post # 3883 also in Bartonville.

He worked the rivers of the central and southern United States as a tugboat Captain for over 50 years.

He was a proud member of the Peoria Motorcycle Club, the Pekin Motorcycle Club, the River Valley Sportsman's Club, and The Masonic Hilton Lodge #1143 of East Peoria, IL. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of A.B.A.T.E.

We want to say a very special Thank You to John and Pam Lane of Bartonville, Dad's neighbors, who for so many years took such good care of Dad when we couldn't be there.

To the Nurses, CNAs, Doctors, volunteers and all who work at Richard Owens Hospice another very special Thank You for the excellent loving care they gave to Dad. They are truly Angels on earth.

Cremation will be accorded and a graveside service with full military honors will be promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
