George Albert Doll, 95,formerly of Morton, Illinois, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Unity Point\Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on June 8, 1919 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of Albert C. and Edith M. (Bauer) Doll. He married Mary Ann Langloss on November 19, 1941 in Marion, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2012 in East Peoria, Illinois. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Doris Miller.
George is survived by two children, Connie (Fred) Smith of Bartonville, Illinois and Stephen Doll of Oak Island, North Carolina; a daughter in law, Jimmie Doll of Oak Island, North Carolina. He has four grandchildren, Erin (Eric) Stevie, Zackary (Kori) Smith, Travis (Karen) Smith, Brett Smith and seven great grandchildren, Kaleb, Khloe, Kinzy , Hudson and Sawyer Smith and Taylor and Quinn Stevie .
He was a clerk at the T. P. & W. Railroad for many years retiring in 1980. He was a Army WWII veteran and a member of the VFW in East Peoria. He loved music and dancing. George had a great affection of dogs and owned many throughout his life. In 1980, he fulfilled his retirement dream of living at the beach in South Carolina. The Family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Grand Victorian of Pekin for their care and support with George.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Stephen Barch will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to TAPS or the Grand Victorian of Pekin.
