Peoria – Estel “Tiny” Myers, 86, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist in Peoria. He was born on December 23, 1932 in Biggsville, a son of Robert M. and Virginia N. (Nelson) Myers. He married Elma Kraushaar on October 27, 1953 in Jerseyville, she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Debra Smith of Peoria; one son, William (Kimberly) Myers of Peoria; four grandchildren, Troy Smith, Kayla Smith, Chad Smith, and Tate Smith; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
Tiny was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an autobody repairman for University Ford in Peoria for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. He liked to play slots, loved to go fishing, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Tiny’s memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Jacob Chase will officiate. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria at a later date. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
