She was born Jan. 15, 1952 in Scottsboro, AL. to Lester and Esther (Coffman) Hastings. They preceded her in death along with one son, Stephen Garner.
Survivors include three sisters: Marie McFarlin of Houston, TX, Gladys Fay Woods of Bartonville, Shirley DeRose of Peoria, one daughter, Sonja West of California, three grandchildren: Steven Ledezma, Fernando Ledezma, and John Giles. She was also survived by five nephews: Tony Woods, Travis Rainey, James McFarlin, Jason Johnston, Jessie DeRose, four nieces: Tina Woods-Miller, Charlotte McFarlin, Diana Tunches, Coreena Johnston, and several great-nieces and nephews.
Susan worked for Continental Airlines in Texas for 18 years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Susan's Life will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the clubhouse at Lake Camolot. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
