Doris F. Yocum, 92, of Glasford, Illinois, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Unity Point\Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on August 27, 1924 in Good Hope, Illinois to Virgil and Gladys (Trimmer) Thomson. She was married to Eldon E. Yocum on December 30, 1944. He preceded her in death July 1, 2007 in Glasford, Illinois. She is also preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Thomson.
She is survived by two sons, Boyd (Cynthia) Yocum of New Iberia, LA and Lloyd (Eva) Yocum of Bartonville; three grandchildren, Ginger Menees, Kirk Yocum and Amanda Romero; six great grandchildren, Colton, Davin and Embrie Romero, Jazmine, Dakota and Ashton Menees; four siblings, Sybil Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, Carroll Thomson of Yates City, Wayne Thomson of Dahinda and Charlene McKechnie of Elmwood.
Doris was a master gardener and loved sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Glasford Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Yeager will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
