He was born February 12, 1949, in Peoria, the son of Lloyd and Thelma (Schuster) Brugger. He married Darlene O’Brien, and she survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Jeff (Jen & Zella) Brugger, and Kevin (Marcy) Brugger; grandchildren, Hayden Brugger, and Addison Brugger; sisters, Holly (Terry) Yousey, and Laura Brugger; brothers, Lloyd (Edna) Brugger, and Dennis (Patti) Brugger; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Brugger.
David was retired from CEFCU as Vice President, and worked for Wildlife Prairie Park in various roles. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, a member of Monterey United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #644, River Valley Sportsmen’s Club, and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was a gifted carpenter. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who will remember him taking them on special trips for chili dogs.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials in honor of David may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic (530 NE Glen Oak, Peoria, IL 61637), or to Wildlife Prairie Park (3826 N Taylor Rd, Hanna City, IL 61536).
