BARTONVILLE – Christopher Thomas Hecht, 48, of rural Peoria, passed away Wednesday, Sept 7, 2016 in Peoria County as a result of electrocution after an accident.
He was born May 16, 1968 in Peoria, IL to Barbara J. (Birkett) and Max Hecht.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara Quenon of Mapleton; his sister, Cheryl Davis of Celebration, Florida; nephews Casey and Logan; his uncles, Bob Hurd of San Francisco, California, and Tom (Pam) Birkett of Peoria; his aunt Tobie (Steve) Mullen and his great aunt Jane Henrikson, both of Bartonville; two step-brothers, Ty (Jayma) Quenon and Gary (Brenda) Quenon II both of Quincy; his aunt Barb (Quenon) Rosson of Mendon; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his “Pops” Gary “Q” Quenon; his grandparents, Don and Betty Birkett; his aunt Becky Hurd, his uncle Tim Birkett and his four legged buddy, Zeke.
Chris graduated from Illini Bluffs in 1986 and worked as a Union carpenter for Local 183.
Chris loved to hunt and fish. He was a Nascar and Blackhawks fan.
He had a kind-hearted and sentimental side that those who knew him best will remember.
C.T. was a devoted son; always the rock for his mom during “Pop’s” illness and every day after.
On Saturday, September 24th, 1:00-5:00 pm, at the Hanna City Sportsman’s Club, family and friends will gather to celebrate Chris’ life. Cremation has been accorded through Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Hollis Park District.
