Christine Grace Schneider

Born May 2, 1955 in Peoria to Lloyd and Beverly (Ernst) Von Behren; she married Albert Schneider January 15, 1977 in Peoria.

Surviving are her husband, Albert of Peoria; son, Matthew (Robin) Schneider; granddaughter, Lara Ruby Schneider; brother, Larry (Linda) Von Behren of Glasford; sisters-in-law, Linda Von Behren of Peoria, Barbara (Carl) Strum of Germantown Hills, Sharon Schneider of Mapleton, Linda (Jim) Beedle of Garland, TX, and Vicki (Chuck) Whitehead of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Arthur Von Behren and brother-in-law, Leon Schneider.

Chris was a 1976 graduate of Bradley University with a Bachelor Degree in education. She taught kindergarten for 38 years at Christ Lutheran School in Peoria. She loved doing things for children and wrote and directed plays for the school.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, played with the hand bell choir and taught Sunday school. She was always sharing her Christian faith.

She was a member of the Heart of Illinois Chorus, Belles of Harmony and enjoyed women’s barbershop singing.

Throughout their lives together Chris and Albert loved traveling together.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, November 27, 2023 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2020 West Malone St. in Peoria with the Rev. Karl Eckhoff officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Visitation will be 3:00- 5:00 PM Sunday, November 26 and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, all at Christ Lutheran Church.

Arrangement are under the care and direction of the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.

Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church.
