She was born July 19, 1950, in Peoria to Charles and Phyllis (Hill) Harper. She married William "Bill" Blackman on May 20, 1969, in Bloomington, Ill.
They had 42 wonderful years together and enjoyed activities such as scuba diving, motorcycling, visiting with family and friends, and raising and caring for exotic birds.
Cheryl enjoyed macrame, scrapbooking, shopping, time with a women's Bible study, gardening and working with her flowers.
Cheryl worked for several years in the Pekin Police Department as a dispatcher and as an auxiliary police officer with the Pekin, Morton and East Peoria police departments. After leaving the Pekin Police Department, Cheryl worked in customer service at Air-Vent for more than 20 years before a medical retirement in 2007.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Bill of Groveland; her two children, Tony (Angela) Blackman and Tracy Blackman; one grandchild on the way; and one brother, Charles Harper.
Visitation will be Monday, May 23, 2011, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a service following at 6 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
