He was born on August 8, 1939 in Peoria, IL to Charles H. and Jean (Mosher) Brown. He married Donna Herrmann on December 22, 1984 in Bartonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Denise Renae Brown, his father-in-law, Frank Bennett and his brother-in-law, Kendall Toureene.
Surviving are his wife, Donna of Bartonville, two daughters, Darnell (Galon) Smith of Peoria, Andrea Jackson of Manito and one son, Maj. William ‘Trey” (Carrie) Herrmann of Rockville, MD, seven grandchildren, Corey Sobota, Galon Smith Jr., Patience Smith, Hayden and Morgan Jackson; Lena and Will Herrmann. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Mason Sobota and Myah Virgilito, one sister, Nancy Toureene of Pewaukee, WI, his mother-in-law, Eileen Bennett and cousin, Betty Crull of Bartonville, two nieces, Darcy (Mike) Harvey and Pam (Joe) Miller, two nephews, Kendall (Kathy) Toureene and Seth Bennett and several aunts and uncles.
Denny graduated from Spalding Academy in 1957 and served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked as a Purchasing Agent for Keystone Steel and Wire until retiring in May of 2000. He also worked at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria as a driver for the Caravan. Denny was a 40 year member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bartonville and was a long time member of the Choir.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 5pm until the start of the scripture service at 6:45pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Church. Father David Heinz will officiate. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
