Alice Jeanette Taylor, 92, of Pekin, Illinois, formerly of Bartonville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Pekin Manor in Pekin surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1925 in Lincoln, Illinois to Daniel O. and Lula (Huff) Funk. She married Donald Dwaine Taylor on September 4, 1948 in Lincoln, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2004 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
She is survived by two children, Donna (Robert) Wallace of Bartonville and Daniel (Cheryl) Taylor of Pekin, whom was her caregiver the last 10 months; six grandchildren, Brian (Aretha) Culshaw, Amy Gardner, Kathleen (David) Miller, Rob (Melissa) Wallace, Anthony Wallace and Holly (Lonny) Bryant; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Funk of Lincoln, Illinois and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Alice worked at Szold’s Department Store for several years, and was an Avon Representative. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bartonville and taught Sunday School for many years. She loved her flowers, crocheting, and playing card games especially Farkle. She was an avid bowler in earlier years. She was a very caring person and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10:30 am at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Ron Little will officiate. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 pm at the funeral chapel.
