Alberta Marie McDowell

AM on Monday, March 20, 2023 at her residence in Pekin.

She was born on April 20, 1939 to Albert Heitzman and Bess (Horton) Heitzman. She was the oldest of five siblings.

She married Leonard Lee (Sandy) McDowell on August 22, 1986 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2018.

Surviving are her brother John (Trudy) Heitzman of Mapleton; Her daughters Melonie (Steve) J.

Cline of Canton, IL and Kim R. Hagen of Iron Mountain, MI; son Alfred (Christy) R. Warner III of

Myrtle Beach, SC; step-sons Gregory L. McDowell and David (Emily) W. McDowell both of

Bartonville, IL; Ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Pebbyl

McDowell of Washington, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She attended Limestone High School. She worked at The Voyager inn, Jumer’s Castle Lodge

and J.C. Penney’s.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Joyce Andrews, Bessie Vogel and Dory

Shirley. Also she lost her precious granddaughter Mia at the age of 12.

Services will be held Saturday March 25th at 12:00 pm at Swan Lake Memory Garden Chapel 4601 W. War Memorial Dr. Peoria, Il.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
