William Baxter Price, 90, of Bartlett, TN, formerly of Long Beach, MS and Waverly, TN passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was born to Walter Tracy Price and Lorene Brizendine Price on December 30, 1932. Mr. Price lived a devoted Christian life and was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church. He loved and provided for his wife and their three children, who gave them six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His grandchildren gave him immense joy. He was adored and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Mr. Price is survived by his daughters, Teresa Bullock (Bill) of Memphis and Cyndi Hildebrand (Jeff) of St. Francisville; his grandchildren, Will Bullock, Price Bullock (Vanessa), Baxter Price, Emma French (Ryan), Anna Grace Tindol (Derek) and Forrest Hildebrand; great-grandchildren AvaLee Hildebrand, Georgia Tindol, Charles Bullock, and Carolyn Bullock. He was preceded in death by Georgia Price, his beautiful wife of 58 years, his son Mark Baxter Price, his brother, Robert Edward Price and his sister, Betty Ann Price.
Mr. Price served in the U.S. Armed Forces in active duty as a meteorologist technician at the foot of Mount Fuji, Japan from October 1954 through September 1956, after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Austin Peay State University. He taught high school Chemistry for a year before gaining employment with Aladdin Industries and later the DuPont Industries from which he would retire after 34 years. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, travelling, spending time with family and friends and entertaining his grandchildren.
A celebration of Mr. Price’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12 at Bartlett Baptist Church with the family receiving friends beginning at 9:00. Entombment will follow in Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road.
