Vern Chumney

Vern F. Chumney, 78, of Arlington, Tennessee passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. He was born November 12, 1936 in Decatur County, Tennessee, graduated in 1963 from the University of Memphis Law School, was a retired Attorney at Law and was a member of RaMet. Mr. Chumney loved gardening, travel, hunting, fishing, was a big fan of Memphis Tigers and Tennessee Vols. He leaves many friends and colleagues. Mr. Chumney was preceded in death by his parents, William W. and Gertrude Leonia Chumney; ten brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Joann Chumney; step-daughters, Tammy Kelly (Jeff) and Cynthia Davis (Jerry); six grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Alma Faye Chumney Wiley. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee.
