Vera M. Atkins

Vera M. Atkins, 97, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on December 17, 2023. She was born to the late Claude and Tishie Lou Smith on July 4, 1926 in Alcorn, Mississippi. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Shirley Atkins. She was a member of the Joy Class at New Church Memphis and loved many hobbies such as crocheting and sewing.

Vera is survived by her brother, Willard Smith (Barbara) and sister, Laverne Kellon; Vera's sons, Jimmie Atkins (Nancy) and Charles Atkins; grandsons, Jason Atkins (Shannon), Justin Atkins (Katie); great-grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan, Addyson, Sage, Owen, and Laney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be sent to New Church Memphis, 4917 Macon Rd, Memphis, TN 38122 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 27th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 10:00am.
