Lord on September 4, 2017 in his home. He was born February 22, 1925 in Hardeman County, Tennessee, the son of James Oscar and Frances (McAlpin) Sain.Travis was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Bernice Sain; his son Travis Sain, Jr.; three sisters, Eloise Nelson, Faye Chambers, and Bobbie Flake; three brothers, Wendell Sain, Gordon Sain, and infant James Oscar Sain; three half sisters, Annie Owen, Pearl Luttrell, and Jewel Winn; and two halfbrothers,
Thomas Sain and Jim Sain. Travis is survived by his daughter, Marsha Babb of Nesbit, MS and two sons, Gene Sain of Horn Lake, MS,and Wayne Thomas of Collierville,TN ; four grandchildren, Michael Babb, Christy Babb Shepherd, Lisa Sain Inman, and Wayne Thomas, Jr.; and one great grandson, Travis Inman.
Travis was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church for 54 years. He served as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and volunteered his time in countless ways in
his church and community. He retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company after 38 years. He began his painting business and painted for the next 23 years,
retiring at age 84. He loved gardening at which he continued until he was 91 years of age. He was active in his community. He devoted his time to the Memphis PET Ministry in recent years, building tricycles for physically handicapped individuals in foreign countries. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 9, 2017, one o’ clock till service time at two o’clock in the afternoon at Ellendale Baptist Church 3861 Broadway
