Thelma Orr, 94, of Memphis, TN, passed away on January 7, 2018. Thelma was a graduate of Shiloh High School where she was a star player on the basketball team. During WWII, Thelma was a Rosie the Riveter in Florida and actually worked on the Memphis Belle after flight missions. She was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church and enjoyed watching basketball and golf. She was preceded in death by her husband Milzie Orr, her son Gary Orr, her granddaughter Amy England, two sisters Pauline Wilson, Opal Davis, and two brothers Donald Ray Smith, and Morris Smith. Thelma is survived by her daughter Denise Pittman. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018, with a funeral service at 2pm, on Friday, January 12, 2017, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N, Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133.
