Sue Bailey

Sue Bailey left this earth at the age of 94 on November 26, 2014, after a short illness. A long-time resident of Kirby Pines Estates in Memphis, TN, Sue was much loved by employees and residents alike. She was an ardent homemaker, and retired as the Office Manager of Shute-Pitman Glass Company in Memphis. Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice, to whom she was married almost 60 years, and by her only brother, William Henry (Hoot) Gibson. She is survived by two children: LuEllen Bailey Childress (Bruce) of Aberdeen, MS; and son, Maurice R. (Rick) Bailey, Jr. (Brenda) of Eads, TN; niece, Nancy Gibson of Lafayette, IN and nephew, James Gibson (Jeannie) of Somerville, TN; four grandchildren: Allen Childress of Houston, TX, Dr. Dale Childress (Susan) of Memphis, Amy Bailey Erickson (Craig) and Gina Bailey Harris (Paul), of Memphis, and ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Saturday, November 29, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N.
