Stephen Ray Parker, 62, passed away peacefully at home and entered Heaven’s gates on July 29, 2013. He leaves his wife, Cheryl M. Parker and his mother, Faye P. Parker; sons, John B. (Brandy) Parker and Jeff (Deborah) Parker; and beloved grandchildren, Gavin B. Parker and Aniston S. Parker; as well as many other loved relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond R. Parker. As a young boy, he was a proud Eagle Scout and graduate of Kingsbury High School. After graduating from Memphis State University, where he was a Lamda Chi Alpha member, Steve worked in sales for various Medical supply companies. For the past several years, he has been a sales executive for Fed Ex. Steve’s passion was golf. He was a member of the Red Apple Inn Golf Club in Heber Springs, AR. Locally, he was a member of both Colonial Country Club and Farmington (Germantown) Country Club. Steve and Cheryl are members of Independent Presbyterian Church and he was a lifelong Tiger fan. When Steve was not finding treasures at estate sales, he and Cheryl enjoyed weekends in Heber Springs. The gathering of Family and friends will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday evening, August 1 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Steve’s Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m., Friday, August 2 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MAM-Memphis Athletic Ministries c/o Vince Alfonso,Jr., Golf Director 2107 Ball Rd., Memphis, TN 38114 or to Independent Presbyterian Church “Mercy Ministries”.
