Shirley Lawrence, 77, of Memphis, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015. She was a communicant of Church of the Holy Spirit, member of Ladies of Charity, Eucharistic Minister and was active in The Ministry to the Sick. Mrs. Lawrence leaves her beloved husband of 60 years, Don Lawrence; a daughter, Diane Lawrence Griggs of Cordova; two sons, Donny (Angie) Lawrence of Cordova and David (Kim) Lawrence of Destin, FL; a sister, Ethel O’Boyle of Homosassa, FL; a brother, Lamar Hooper of Byhalia, MS; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be this afternoon, Sunday, May 31 from 2-4 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 2300 Hickory Crest Dr. Memphis, TN 38119. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Poor Clare sisters.
