Shirley McCaig Flippin

Shirley Flippin (McCaig), passed away on June 4, 2024 at the age of 86 in Brighton, Tennessee. She was born on April 19, 1938 in Covington, Tennessee. Shirley was a loving and caring mother, and the proud matriarch of five generations of the Flippin family.

She was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee and alongside her husband Robert "Bob" Flippin, owned Bob's Barber and Style salon on Hwy 51 North for many years. Shirley was dedicated to the care and nurturing of her family, and she shared that love not only with her immediate family but also with other friends that soon became family blessed by her kindness.

Shirley was also an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church and worshipped there for many years. Her family is thankful that she in no longer in pain, and is reunited with her beloved husband Bob, and is forever in the presence of our Lord.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Tina McClain; grandchildren, Shawn Ramsey (Jennifer) and Jamie Carpenter (Cody); great-grandchildren, Sarah, Sidney, Casey, Chloe Ramsey, Kaydn, Kayson, Kamden McClain, Ryleigh Moss, Morgan, Bud Cannon and great great grandchildren, William Chapman and Regan Ilardi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Flippin; son, Robert C. "Robbie" Flippin; father, Charles McCaig and mother, Lela McMickin. A special thank you and recognition goes to Tammy Leopard and family who were faithful and helped care for Shirley.

A graveside service for Shirley will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens is assisting with the arrangements.
