Sammy L. Hamm, age 85, of Nesbit passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Samuel was born September 13, 1935 in Selmer, TN. He was retired from the automotive service industry having worked at both Watkins Body Shop and Hicks Radiator Shop. He coached both baseball, softball and was a fan of Memphis State Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Hamm, his parents Clyde and Edna Hamm, and two brothers, Elmer Hamm and C.B. Hamm.
Sammy is survived by his sons, Keith Hamm and his wife Debbie; son, Louis Hamm and his wife Gwen; his daughter, Rhonda Hicks; son, Ritchie Hamm and his wife Tracy, eight grandchildren; Justin Hamm, Jacob Tschume, Joey Tschume, Brock Tschume, Lauren Hamm, Zachary Hamm, Brandon Hamm, Addison Hamm and one great grandchild, Ender Tschume . He also leaves a brother, Neal Hamm and a sister, Beth Dunlap.
The family will receive friends for Sammy on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
