Robert Junior Vaughn

Robert Junior Vaughn, 91, of Memphis, passed on from this life to be with his Lord and Savior July 8, 2016 surrounded by his family that loved him dearly. He was born on July 30, 1924 to the late William Robert Vaughn and Ethel Vaughn in Dukedom, TN. He was a WWII Air Force veteran who served in Reykjavik, Iceland. As a career electrician he was a proud member of the IBEW Local Union 474 for 68 years. After he retired he was a job estimator for Southland Electric Company. He was a faithful member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church and also served as a Gideon. He loved family get-togethers, music, sports and playing golf over the years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and a dear friend to many throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marjorie, and six siblings, Roselene Rucker, John Willard Vaughn, Sidney Murray Vaughn, Ludene Bonner, Ethelene Vaughn, and Evolene Strickland. He is survived by his daughter Pam Bell (Larry) of Cordova, TN, his son Gary Vaughn (Shirley) of Memphis, TN , four grandchildren: Jay Butler of New Caney, TX, Gayle Butler of Southaven, Ms, Sara Donner of Dothan, AL and Brett Vaughn (Kristen) of Dothan, AL and three great grandchildren Stephanie Hardin of Southaven, MS, Noah Donner and Sophie Donner of Dothan, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 Sunday July 17 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN.
