Philip Doyal Brown, 82, of Bartlett, TN, passed from this life Oct 15, 2021. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Patricia, three daughters; Lisa Brown of Belden, MS, Laurie (Alan) Walls of Oakland, TN, Leann Beasley of Eads, TN, two grandchildren; Chasiti and Gage Beasley both of Eads, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, UL and Viola Brown; his siblings Joe Brown and Ural Brown, a granddaughter, Scout Elizabeth Walls and son-in-law, Kevin Beasley.
Doyal loved the Lord and served Him in any and every way he could. He was an elder and Sunday School teacher for many years at Raleigh Christian Church/New Hope Christian Church and was part of the building campaigns for Raleigh Christian/New Hope Christian Church in Bartlett.
He was a founding member of the Backlashers Bass Club. Doyal loved fishing and took every opportunity to do so. He had many opportunities to fish all over the United States and Canada. As much as he loved fishing, he loved eating catfish and crawfish, too! Doyal never passed up the opportunity to eat at a good fish house!
He and Pat went on many adventures around the world after his retirement. They even made it to Australia and New Zealand. When he wasn’t on an adventure, he loved spending time with his family and friends or working in his yard/garden.
His career was spent at Schering-Plough for 35 years until his retirement. Doyal began working with the Salvation Army prior to retirement and continued to do so until his death. He was on the Advisory Board with the Memphis Salvation Army and very active with the Angel Tree and the Red Kettle campaigns.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in his memory to the Salvation Army or to New Hope Christian Church missions.
A visitation will be held at New Hope Christian Church (3300 Kirby Whitten Rd, Bartlett, TN) on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a funeral service Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11:00am.
