Ms. Pansy “Lynn” Bobbitt was born June 22, 1946 in Collins, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Barney Eaton Rutland and the late Myrtis Vera (Barnard) Brewer. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. Lady Frankine Frost (Bobby) and Mrs. Jackie Rose Vargas (Ricky).
Lynn was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She was a hard worker holding several professions during her lifetime. She retired from Answering Advantage as a Call Center Operator and previously worked for many years at The Doctor’s Exchange, Abbey Foster, Delta Foremost and Sign Services. Lynn had an entrepreneurial spirit as well, taking up real estate and selling items she personally handcrafted. She also managed the family business while acting as caregiver for her Stepfather. But most importantly, Lynn was a loving mother and grandmother, and it was her first priority, always. This is by far the most significant role she ever played and there was nothing that she would not do for her family. There was no one or nothing Lynn loved more than her children, Ashley and Destin, and her granddaughter, Madi. Lynn never met a stranger. If you knew her, you were immediately drawn to her loving spirit and lively personality. She could hold a conversation with anyone, about anything and she stayed up-to-date on all the current events, artists and happenings. She loved to sing, laugh and joke. She could leave you crying in laughter. She had a quick wit and sharp tongue as well! She loved music and she enjoyed dancing and traveling. She liked old movies like Dirty Dancing and television series’ such as The Voice and Wheel of Fortune.
Lynn departed this life February 21, 2019, surrounded by family and friends, at St. Francis, Bartlett after an extended illness. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Vera Ashley Bobbitt and one son, Destin Cooper Bobbitt, both of Arlington, TN; one granddaughter, Madelyn Ashley Bobbitt; one sister, Geraldine Foropoulos, of Memphis, TN; two brother-in-laws, Ricky Vargas and Bobby Frost, both of Memphis, TN; three nieces, Anita Sullivan Goforth (Ted), Jennifer Lynn Stiedle (Brad) and Michelle Foropoulos; two nephews, Michael Foropoulos and Christopher Foropoulos; a longtime friend, Beth Davis and her family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
