She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 30, 1975, to Nelson Firmin and Christine Williams. Michelle graduated from Collierville High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California. She was married to Phil Halpin on August 9, 1997.
During their 23-year marriage, Michelle dedicated her life to the home education and spiritual formation of their four children. She was an accomplished educator and fostered a love of music, culture, and excellence in her family. She was an active parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a respected member of the Blessed Sacrament Homeschool Group in Memphis, Tennessee. Michelle was well known for knitting baby blankets to welcome the children of friends and to cook meals and offer support for many families in need. She was much loved by her children, family, friends, and community.
Michelle is survived by her husband Phil, her daughter, Emma Nwobilor (Kashirim), her sons, Jack, Liam, and Ethan, her parents, Nelson Firmin and Christine Williams, and her sister, Brenda Lamey (Che).
The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on December 11, 2020 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Memphis, Tennessee. A rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. before the funeral at the church. Interment will follow the service at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, Tennessee.
