Mike “Mookie” lived life with pure joy. He was proud of his family. He bragged about his kids all the time. He loved his friends. He loves a good debate and could get my blood boiling, but all in good fun. He was generous and definitely a leader not a follower. 

Dear Sharon and the O’Mearns family,
Michael , Mike, or shall we say “Mookie” was a great friend  for whom I’ve personally known since the late 80s. There are so many memories that I will cherish including all the basketball days with Shoot the Bull in Chicago to the numerous Bball leagues we participated in Illinois where we played together throughout the years. Mookie always went out of his way to protect his fellow band of brothers ! With heavy heart, I wish you all my dearest condolences.

I was very saddened to hear of Mike's passing.  He was always quick to smile, ask how you are doing, and if there was anything he could help you with.
