She was born to the late James and Elva Duffy on August 19, 1939 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Sims and her son, Douglas Sims; and her sister Melva Seng.
Mary Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She celebrated 60 years of marriage to Charles before he passed. She loved to travel and visit new places. She was a devoted grandmother and always made their favorite cake on any special occasion. She was never without a smile. Friends were considered to be part of her family. Mary Sue retired after 30 years from the Internal Revenue Service and enjoyed her retirement. Mary Sue fought a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer and appreciated the care she was given at West Clinic. Mary Sue was truly the heart and feet of Jesus and we know she was greeted at heaven's gate with “well done my good and faithful servant.”
