Still missing my sweet grandma more than ever. Every time I think about her I cry. I just can’t believe she isn’t here anymore. Love you so much Grandma! I hope you are dancing in the sky and watching over us!

My grandma had a quiet strength and a warmth that made everything feel a little safer. She helped raise me and my sisters with so much love and care—it felt like second nature to her. She was like a second mother to us, always there with a comforting presence, especially during the hard times.

She was incredibly passionate and determined. If something sparked her interest—like running, sewing, or fixing computers—she poured herself into it until she knew it inside and out. I still can’t believe the stories she told me about finishing races through pain most people would’ve stopped for. That was just who she was—resilient and full of heart.

She loved deeply. Her faith, her family, and especially her grandchildren meant everything to her. She prayed for us all the time. She was also the one behind the camera at every gathering, keeping memories for all of us, making sure nothing slipped away unnoticed.

When we stayed with her, she would come in every night to rub our heads while lullabies played. It’s something I’ll never forget. Even when I wanted to pull away from the world, she’d gently remind me, “No man is an island.” She believed in the power of community, of family, of being there for one another.

In her final year, she and my grandfather were my rock. When I was pregnant and feeling so alone, I could call them and feel held in love, even from far away. I gave birth to their 17th great-grandchild just months before they passed. Though they never got to meet him or hold him in their arms, I carry comfort in knowing how much they would’ve loved him—just as they loved all of us.

She gave so much love, and I carry that love with me now.

My grandmother was such a kind hearted woman. I remember as a kid she would  bake chocolate chip cookies and would always give us a piece of the cookie dough while scooping it onto the baking sheet cause she said it was the best part. She loved her chocolate so much, she would even add a pack of hot cocoa to her coffee. ☕️ I remember going to the park in the neighborhood and feeding the ducks with her and grandpa. We did that every weekend. After church on Sundays we would go to cicis pizza and baskin robbins. We never missed our Sunday trips doing that. Oh how I miss that! She gave me so many good childhood memories and I will always cherish them deep in my heart. When my sisters and I would stay the night her and my grandpa would rub our heads and play us lullabies until we fell asleep. It was always so comforting and one of my core memories. She always made me feel safe, warm, and loved. She is the best grandmother anyone could have asked for and I am grateful to have had her as my grandma. She made such a huge impact on my life. I love her so much and will miss her so much. She was truly a wonderful grandma and person. I love you grandma and miss you deeply.

Her name was Mary, my  Mother , my Mom.  She was a quiet, strong, and gentle soul who lived through some incredibly hard times with grace and patience.  Even though I moved far away and couldn’t visit often in her last years, she never made me feel distant.  She remained positive, loving, and full of wisdom- always knowing just what to say to make things better.  She taught me how to be a good person not just through words but through the life she lived.  Her strength, kindness, and the sound of her voice are things I will carry in my heart forever.  She was a truly beautiful woman, inside and out, and I miss her deeply.  She and my Dad made every holiday glow, the family gathered at their house because that was home.  That was love..  I love you Mom, you live in my heart forever.
