Mary Lee McMackin was born on November 24, 1942 in Little Rock, AR. She passed from this life on December 21, 2022 in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena Mae House (Clifton) and Ray Monroe House, and by her husband Daniel E. McMackin, and by her grandson Trevor M. McMackin (Marina Oberfelder). She was called Grammy by her family and those she loved. Grammy leaves her sisters, Nancy Henson (Jack) and Beverly Nelson (Don), and her sons, Sean McMackin (Stephanie White) and Tim McMackin (Heather). Grammy also leaves her beloved grandchildren Samantha Hardison (Dalton), Rory, Logan, Elijah, Gabriel, Sydney, and Tabitha. Grammy also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren Kieran McMackin and Scarlett Hardison.
Grammy loved her family dearly, and enjoyed every minute she was able to spend with them. She was a very reverent woman, who lived her faith daily. Grammy cherished her church family, and especially her Sunday School class. Most importantly of all, Grammy loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
Grammy worked for many years in civil service as she followed her husband's career in the Marine Corps. She is remembered as a wonderful mother during years of training, deployments, and separations. She served her family tirelessly while always being able to find time to help others.She leaves behind many, many friends who she held dear to her heart, as well.
Mary Lee was a devout woman, filled with faith, a kind and generous personality, and a strong presence of hope and peace. We celebrate her life and we rejoice that she has joined her Lord in the eternal joy that she will experience forever. We thank God for our momma, for our Grammy, for our sister, and for our faithful friend. We love you Grammy!
A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, December 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00. A funeral service will follow at 2:00, both located at 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A graveside will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Jonesboro Memorial Park, 3910 Harrisburg Road, Jonesboro, AR 72404.
