LOUISE MAE PERKINS MONTGOMERY, 87. Early Sunday morning, July 25, 2010 the Lord came and took Louise Montgomery home to be with Him for eternity. Louise Mae Perkins Montgomery was born in Lexington, KY September 7, 1922 and came to Memphis as a child. She grew up in Memphis and graduated from Humes High School. While working at Fisher Aircraft Louise met and married Joe Montgomery during the early war years and did her part as one of the original "Rosie The Riveter" workers on the home front. She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie Stepp and Astor Dobson. She is survived by one son Ron Montgomery of Southaven, MS; two daughters Barbara McKeel (John Doyle) of Memphis and Marilyn Teague (Jim) of Benton, AR; two sisters Betty Perry, Mary Ann Douglas; one brother Billy Gaetano (Pat) of Memphis; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family would like to express their thanks to Quince Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice for their loving and compassionate care for Louise. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 29, services and burial will be held on Friday, July 30, all will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (formerly Memory Hill Gardens).
