

Larry P. Sides, 67, of Bartlett, TN died on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He was born to the late Otis Paul and Betty Marie Sides, August 24, 1946. He graduated from Kingsbury High School in 1964 and attended the University of Memphis. He married Judy Booker on February 25, 1967. Larry retired from Malone and Hyde Wholesale Distributors where he was in sales and marketing. Larry became race director at Memphis Motorsports for several years and his love for racing grew when his sons started racing. He and Rick Thompson ran the track at Atwood, TN. He then formed a partnership with Precast Concrete. Larry was a member of Wells Station Baptist Church and visited and loved attending Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church. He had a love of music and played in a band called “Cloudy” for many years. Larry loved RVing and traveling to races all over the U.S. He made friends all over the world and followed the World of Outlaw Circuit when possible. Along with his wife of 47 years, Judy, he is survived by two sons, Jason and Paul, both of Bartlett; devoted daughter-in-law Deanna; three grandchildren, Skylar, Sydney and Sawyer, whom he adored; a brother, Bobby Wayne Sides of Bartlett and a sister, Patricia Ann Smith of Memphis. Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Ray Sides. A celebration of Life Service will be Monday evening, February 3 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
